Dirty Windows

Some mornings, it pays to have dirty windows …

Taken and finished from my dining room table. The rising sun shining through the overgrown vines casts an interesing camera obscura-like shadow on the sliding glass door which hasn’t been cleaned in many, many months — maybe years. These were shot with the 5x telephoto lens of my iPhone 16 Pro, and “processed” using the iPhone’s own Photos app to create four different treatments of the image.

The wider view provides the context that drew me to the shot. Shots like this are about seeing possibilities in the moment, and being ready to act. The only “prep” prior to snapping the shutter was to raise the lock bar on the sliding glass door, as it cut through the center of the picture I wanted to make.
