Dreams. Often chaotic. Fired by random-firing neurons during sleep, inspired by sights and sounds and smells. Do they wake us? Do they inspire us? Or, do they terrify us?
Dorian’s Dream is my latest composition, inspired by the idea of pseudo-randomly created notes and timbres. Three instruments were used to create the constantly changing tones, both soft and sharp, familiar and surreal, seemingly near and distant. This random, abstract soundscape is wrapped in evolving blankets of sound created with but three other instruments, whose parts are overlaid and interwoven.
Listen, close your eyes, and allow the sounds to propel you to another place in Dorian’s Dream.
