It’s Monday, and time for another Live Stream from the Disaster Room.
I picked up a new Kontakt 8 instrument called Porphyra which is the first third-party instrument designed specifically for Kontakt 8. In addition to sounding great, it goes a long way to opening up Kontakt 8’s sampling and synthesis engine to “the rest of us”, which is pretty cool. It even allows adding your own samples and wavetables in custom presets.
I’ve also been playing around with some trippy video synthesis lately, as I’ve wanted to be able to add a little more visual interest during live jams and the videos that go along with new music releases as well as provide a better live chat experience. It’s been an interesting ride so far. This also leads to a necessity for a video switcher/”mixer” with more inputs than my current ATEM Mini Pro.
Rough timeline, as always, starts like this:
0:00 Begin transmission
0:00 Opening Jam
